We have taught our kids to do what I call a softball stance during base-running. Basically meaning that they start with their left foot on the front of the bag and their right foot behind the bag and they rock forward as the ball reaches the plate, moving only the right foot, never losing contact with the bag. We were called out for it during the district tournament. Was this the right call? I thought that anything was legal so long as you are on the bag until the ball crosses the plate.
